Health Claims Forum – Thursday 13th September 2007

The incidence of mental health claims has shown a significant increase in recent years. These claims are amongst the most difficult to assess and manage, and have a wide variety of associated difficulties. However effective management of mental health claims offers substantial rewards for all parties involved, and is an area where claims expertise can have beneficial results.

Our next meeting shall be aimed at tackling some of the most problematic and challenging aspects of dealing with mental health claims. The meeting is designed to appeal to claims assessors of all experience levels who are involved with the management of mental health claims, but primarily to those with some experience in this field.

We have a variety of medical professionals speaking with expertise in various aspects of mental health. They will provide insight into a number of conditions including personality disorders and somatoform disorders. There will be specific emphasis on how mental health conditions impact the management of claims and practical advice will be given, such as how to get the most out of referrals for IMEs and nurse visits.

The agenda is posted on the website. This forum will benefit assessors at all levels of experience.

The AGM will be held prior to this meeting at 9.50am for those wishing to attend.

The meeting will be held on Thursday 13th September at the London Underwriting Centre, 3 Minster Court, Mincing Lane, London, EC3R 7DD.

Delegate Cost
£50 per delegate (see end of letter for details concerning payment).

Annual Subscriptions – Now due

The annual subscription for 2007/2008 season is £45 per member office. If you require an invoice, please let us know, however, we would ask that subs are paid in advance of the September forum.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support during the previous season and we are pleased to confirm that subscriptions along with delegate fees are proposed to remain at 2006/2007 levels.

In addition, a copy of the 2006 AGM minutes together with the HCF Income and Expenditure Accounts are posted on the website for members perusal two weeks prior to the event.
